Oxford Brookes Gets a DRAGON
August 26th, 2014

Earlier this year Oxford Brookes University purchased the EPIC DRAGON and began integrating it into their Film Studies courses, becoming the first university in the UK to give their students hands-on experience with an EPIC DRAGON.

Govind Chandran—an instructor at Oxford Brookes—uses an EPIC DRAGON in his professional work as a director and producer. His experience with the camera led him to RED when it came time to consider the future of the Film Studies program. He knew that the immense capability of the industry-changing DRAGON sensor would provide his students with unique opportunities.

By equipping them with next-generation digital cinema technology, Chandran is helping to keep his students on the cutting edge of the film industry. The EPIC DRAGON's 6K Full Frame sensor delivers more vibrant colors and improved tonal variations, helping students see the subtle ways their choices affect their shots.

Increased dynamic range—and the highest DxO Mark sensor rating ever—makes the EPIC DRAGON a vital tool that gives students the chance to shoot in a wider variety of situations. Their experience with the EPIC DRAGON will broaden their understanding of what makes a shot work and what doesn't—giving them invaluable skills they can use throughout the film industry.

With Oxford Brookes University being among the premier institutions in the UK, RED is proud to be their choice in digital cinema instruction cameras, and looks forward to the future pioneers of the Film Industry.
