RED RETURNS TO IBC
September 10th, 2014

RED returns to IBC on September 12th to showcase the 6K motion capabilities of the RED DRAGON sensor. EPIC DRAGON and SCARLET DRAGON will be on display at booth 10.A10 alongside new innovations from RED and a few of our partners.

EPIC DRAGON will be paired with the REDCAST Module to demonstrate real-time streaming of live uncompressed 4K footage. The RED 3-Axis Lens Control System will be paired to the T.H.C. (Tactical Hand Controller) through the RED COMMAND PROTOCOL (R.C.P.) Bridge to showcase the DSMC system's remote focus and iris control capabilities. Also on display will be the RED Switchblade-M, a slim and lightweight interface solution that mounts to the side of the EPIC or SCARLET.

The newly announced RED Touch 7.0" LCD and the DSMC Interchangeable OLPF (optical low pass filter) Mount will also be on display at IBC. The RED Touch 7.0" LCD delivers the ultimate high-definition viewing experience for recording and reviewing R3D footage with a 1920 x 1136 resolution, 323ppi display panel. The DSMC Interchangeable OLPF allows shooters to easily adjust and optimize their EPIC DRAGON or SCARLET DRAGON's optical capabilities based on subject matter, lighting, or environment.

RED will be joined at the booth by foolcontrol, who will be holding demonstrations of their camera control applications:

"OS X and iPhone apps [designed] to take total control of RED DSMC cameras via Wifi or GIG-Ethernet. Including precise focus control, recording settings, playback, looks, curves, and more."

OffHollywood will also be at the RED booth demonstrating HOTLINK, a tiny WiFi module for RED DSMC cameras:

"OffHollywood's HOTLINK is a small module that can be mounted anywhere on a RED DSMC camera system to provide wifi control via any application that supports R.C.P. camera control protocol."

NextVR's 6-camera Virtual Reality rig will also be showcased at the RED booth. Equipped with six EPIC DRAGONs, their fully customized rig supports recording and live streaming of immersive 4K stereoscopic content at 60 fps.

On September 13th from 10:00am to 11:30am, RED will be giving their Big Screen Theater presentation. Experience live 4K broadcast demonstrations with real-time graphics, while simultaneously capturing 6K R3D RAW masters. Additionally, House of Cards Lead Colorist Laura Jans-Fazio will be giving an exclusive presentation on the color grading process used for season two of the Netflix Original Series. Join her as she walks you through the creative process using House of Cards 5K RED EPIC R3D footage, grading live on FilmLight's Baselight system in 4K.
